Mobile USB modem

Hi,

i have a Huawei USB mobile modem WM71 which give me internet connectivity. I used this modem with Windows 7 without any problem. In Windows 8, i install the software, i connect to the internet, traffic seems to ok (receive/transmit) but i can't open any webpage or ping any IP address. I also tried another 3 usb mobile modems with no luck at all.

In order to summarize, here are the test results of the 4 usb mobile modems:

1) Huawei WM71 connection established but but i can't open any webpage or ping any IP address.
2) Huawei Mobile Broadband E153 --> I cannot even establish a connection
3) Huawei Mobile Broadband E1750 --> Same as WM71 model, connection established but but i can't open any webpage or ping any IP address.
4) Huawei E5830 --> I cannot even establish a connection

Please note that all the above modems work fine in Windows 7.

Any ideas?

Try installing Mobil modem software under compatibility mode
By right-hand clicking on the installable file, choose (Properties)
Then selecting second tab (compatibility) check the checkbox
[FONT=&amp](Compatibility) select windows 7 (apply) then ok done… [/FONT]then install

Hi, i installed mobile modem under compatibility mode (Windows 7 & Windows XP) but still doesn't work.

Any other suggestion?

Yes i tried compatibility mode for Windows XP as i wrote in my previous post.

can you please help on this? I tried the above mentioned usb mobile modems on another pc with Windows 8 and there are working fine.
