How to contact my printer from Laptop?

my laptop (win 7) at home uses my superhub (Virginmedia) to wirelessly use the net. My pc (win 8) (RJ45) is wired to hub and printer does not have wireless capability. HP F2180.

Is it possible to tell my laptop to 'find' the printer so I can print directly from laptop?

Where's your HP F2180 connected? To the Win 8 PC? If so, you should be able to just share it and then discover it on your laptop.

yes to pc but dont seem to be able to 'share', unsure if its the laptop or the pc or the printer?

Printer is shared in pc but laptop cannot find it by any means, (that I know of).

Are you using the desktop applet to add a printer, or attempting to use the Win8 Charm settings? I'd have to double check this, but I'm thinking I had the same problem using the Charm settings applet, but it worked using the "normal" Windows-7-like applet from the desktop.

I went into Ctrl Panel (win 7) and told laptop to find printer via my Win 8 pc
