I have tried for some time now to get my surround sound to work on my Packard Bell Ixtreme X8540 since upgrading to Windows 8 via Microsoft's upgrade tool. When I had Vista installed, there was an icon on the bottom task bar which would take me to a control centre for the audio which gave the option to select either 5.1 or stereo. This is no longer there and I now only have sound going to my two front speakers and my bass bin. I have searched for drivers, etc. to no avail. Any idea what I can do to fix this problem because Packard Bell refused to help and directed me to a premium 50p a minute number? Thanks.
