    DVD/CD-RW Drive(D)

I received a new laptop for x-mas with Windows 8 installed. When I insert a CD into the (d) drive nothing happens.

What else do I need to do? I am using Windows XP now so I have a lot to learn.

It should work the same as it does in Win XP.

Load a CD on the drive and then access it with the Windows Explorer, from the Desktop and see if it shows anything in the drive. If not, contact the PC vendor for assistance, since this is a new PC.

Games folders: Root drive (SSD) vs. data drive (HDD).
In my opinion, games should be installed in SSD drive in order to benefit the decreased loading times. We would only get HDD speed if the games are installed in HDD drive. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. Thanks.
