Touchpad is driving me mad - Any Ideas?

Right,
So i play sims and everytime i slide my finger from left to right (no matter what distance) it takes
me off the game and to my desktop.

I am going insane, how on earth can i disable this useless tool?

Should be able to disable it in contol panel/device manager I would think or unplug it if you want to disable the whole touchpad, if just the feature it might be in control panel mouse settings.
