Hi guys, I'm able to access the Internet via wireless on a laptop. I've just updated my Windows XP Pro to Windows 8 via a download from Microsoft website. It is a good offer of £24.99p. I have the BTHub3 router which is the new 'Infinity' one....we can't get Infinity where I live. My 9 year old HP Pavillion Media Center Windows XP Pro. The model number is..EJ170AA-ABU m7210.uk. I have SP 3 installed too.
After installation of Windows 8 I find that Windows 8 can't find drivers for my LAN card. I think my LAN card is a Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC. Packet Scheduler Miniport. There's also an 'ADMtek ADM8511 USB To Fast Ethernet Converter. Entire RAM 1,536MB. CPU: 1xIntel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.93GHz. Model: x86 Compatable GenuineIntel/Family 15 /Model 4 / Stepping 1. Graphics: NVidia GeForce 6200SE TurboCache(TM).
I didn't have the information at hand to register so I'll imput the info later.
I have tried to download Windows 7 drivers to a flashpen but they were actually Vista drivers. Can anyone point me in the right direction to download the proper drivers just to see if they will solve the LAN problem. I don't know my Motherboard manufacturer or BIOS either. Perhaps one of you guys could help this old guy.
Look forward to your replies.
