Hard disk not responding.

Two weeks before my laptop display get broken. Then I used its hard disk for external hard disk for getting the files. After some days it get stuck while I using it and after that I can't use it. Ever time I connect I to my computer, my computer got stuck and never respond it until remove the hard. So is my hard damaged, how can I fix it. I am pretty sure it never fall.
I have windows 8 release preview installed in it and windows 8 pro installed on my PC.
If u need any other information just tell me.

Get your hard drive manufacturer's diagnose tool on their website. Burn the iso to a cd . Boot your computer with the cd and test your hard drive .

I think that the problem may be due to the fact that there are two OS seen by the system, do you relly need the installation of the releas preview?

I don't think it is problem due to two OS. lt work perfectly before. I can read/write files without having problem. There is release preview on my hard because it is my laptop internal hard.

I can't find bootable ISO file on Samsung website. I only find program run in windows. When I tried to run software while hard is connected, software stuck at scanning for USB drives. But it work fine when I remove the hard disk. So can you give me a link of bootable diagnosing tool for Samsung hard disk. Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English

do not know which external drive you have since you too do not show your setup.

Anyway i had that problem (drive not starting) with my Samsung 1.5 Gbit drive.

The drive is not supposed to spindle when not in use. But when i used it on my pc he never spindled automatically.

So when i tried to open a folder nothing happened.

Finally i disconnected the drive to attach him to the laptop.......problem solved.

Do not ask me why.

The laptop is Win 8 X86, my pc is X64, that is the only difference.

I tried attaching hard disk to my laptop. But it says failed to boot.

you lost me....you should check your bios, obviously the external drive is set first to boot.

Why would you connect a slow external drive internal?

Look. It just problem about hard disk. Not my laptop or desktop.

did u try on an other pc? if yes and still not working..
-try to change the adaptor(not cable)
-new file system (u will lose everything on the disk)
-or maybe is really broken...tip: do not ever disconnect when it's busy and if your are that lazy like me disconnect using " safely
remove"
