I sent this email to OWI Robotics:

I have the Robotic Arm with USB interface and it works very well on all my other computers but I cannot get the driver to install on Windows 8.

I have tried using compatibility mode for other Windows versions but still no joy.

Even direct attempts to load the driver fail (it says the file is corrupt.

I also have downloaded your 64 bit version from your site Robotic Arm Edge 64-bit Support.rar(several times) - same result.

Suggestions please.

Thanks

The AMAZING reply:

Currently the USB Interface does not work with Windows 8. We made this decision when it was clear that the operating system had many problems and was widely panned by critics. I would suggest using Windows 7, Vista or XP. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I feel that I'm not going to get much further with OWI Robotics so wondered if anyone else here could make a suggestion.

Further Info:
It runs fine on XP Pro, and Vista. I cannot remember if it ran on Windows 7. The machine I want it to run on is Windows 8 ONLY.

I'm running a sfc /scannow as I type - I'll post results (if that's any use or help - Not sure).

Thanks

I'm not sure how to access it - I'm running Administrator : Command Prompt and still can't get access and don't know how to run File Explorer as Admin in Windows 8.[/DEL] :)

ETA: I copied the log file and it can be read - I have it if it's needed (It's long).
