Does Win 8 Support the Intel DX58SO?

I noticed on Intel;'s website that for whatever reason they've left out what was their flagship gaming motherboards the DX58SO and DX58SO2 in the Windows 8 compatibility matrix. Does anyone know if the DX58SO motherboard works with Windows 8?

I figured someone here has either tried or succeeded installing Windows 8 on a DX58SO, I didn't want to risk having to rebuild my Windows 7 environment and while I have adequate backups its more the waste of time to get it back to normal that I fear.

I really would like to give Windows 8 a shot but I kinda feel like I am taking a chance since Intel doesn't seem to list my board as supported. If anyone here can give me some insight in to whether or not the board is actually supported I would appreciate any input.

Thanks!

Can anyone please help? I'd rather not take a blind leap here and was hoping someone within the community here has tried or installed Windows 8 with this motherboard.

It worked fine under Vista Ultimate 64-bit as well as Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, I can assume it should be ok with Windows 8 based on the past compatibility and Windows 8 upgrade advisor showing no hardware issues but with computers sometimes assuming things can lead you to a long stressful day of troubleshooting.

Thanks

I just installed W8 Pro on my Gigabyte x58 OC . It has the same x58 chipset and southbridge ICH10R as your board . I can't imagine you will have problems . I used the chipset inf version 9.3.0.1021 and RST version 10.8.0.1003 .

I installed win 8 pro 64 upgrade on my dx58mo1 motherboard. I think this is the Dell version of the dx58so. Win8 upgrade installed without problem. And I might add running great.

The only way to really know is to install Win8 and see for yourself. I'll bet you your board will run Win8 just fine. If a system will run Vista/Win7, it will run Win8 (with a few specific exceptions)... Good luck!
