BT connection woes

I have a Sennheiser MX500 headset that loses connection frequently. I have tried other BT things such as mice and they do the same thing: once they are shut off, I have to remove and re-install them in order to re-connect them. I had this issue on a an Asus VX6 netbook (Win 8 beta) and now an Asus UX31A(Win 8 Pro retail).

go to device manager
drop down the bluetooth arrow
right click on your bluetooth driver and go to properties
go to the power management tab
uncheck "allow computer to shut off device to save power"
