Wireless card issue

I have a realtek 8188ce built into my Toshiba laptop. Initially windows 8 detects it and it works fine, however after a restart (or 2) the device manager will report that the device cannot start or simply wont detect the wireless card at all. I've also downloaded the latest drivers from realtek and the problem persisted.
The only way I can temporarily fix the wireless card is to go into the device manager, restore hidden devices and remove the wireless card. Windows will detect it upon restart and it will work fine again. Does anyone have any ideas?

Do the drivers claim to be W8 compatible. If not one idea is to run them in W7 compatibility mode when you install them (right click on driver)

Goto Toshiba support and look for the drivers. Toshiba has been good about updating drivers, let's hope they continue...
