Hi, I'm what some people might call a wee bit computer illiterate, so I apologise in advance.
I'm having trouble getting my laptop (Windows 8) to see USB 2.0 drives. It has no trouble seeing USB 3.0 drives (using both USB 3.0 an USB 2.0 ports).
When I plug in a USB 2.0 drive it makes the sound indicating it's detected external hardware but nothing shows up under (My) Computer or under Disk Management. I've tried a number of USB 2.0 drives, all NTSF and all work on windows 7.
I've checked all the USB drivers under the device manager and they are all up to date. HOWEVER, I have noticed that there is one 'Unknown device' listed also. Could this have something to do with it? How would I find the driver for his 'unknown' device?
Any help is much appreciated
Cheers
