Solved User profile folder
Hi, if someone wants to change the name of user account, I think it is only logically that he wants also change the user profile folder name, isn't it? But how can we do that? is it possible?

Yes... I renamed folder from another profile and changed registry, after that I cant get in my default profile at all. So only solution was - delete profile.

That is another way. It is best to just create a new user account though. Glad you got it sorted.

This is about as close to the issue as I can find. While installing Win8 Pro, my user name folder magically changed from
John to
My Documents . I cannot change the name. Now it's shared as John, its location is John, and it's driving me crazy. I cannot create a folder named John in Users as it say that it already exists! My searches came up with the profile name change but that is really not what I am trying to do. I just want the folder back to the name John!
BTW, my User Account is John and is administrator.

create new account with administrator rights and delete previous account (choose keep all files).

Geez, I know what I did. I fuzzed with the registry to change the default folder for attachements in Outlook from My Documents to John. Now I have a damn parent-child relationship that I probably cannot fix (as I didn't bother to BACK UP my reg settings, fool of a took)
