Solved Make Alternating Images For The Lock Screen

Hello there, and thanks for this forum,

I had a random idea that popped in my head not too long ago. I have images from a folder that change randomly every 2 minutes, for my Desktop background. I was wondering if there's such option/program that can load up a random image from that same folder for my Lock Screen every time I turn on the computer.

(For example: I turn on the computer, and Image1.jpg loads up as the Lock Screen picture. I restart the computer, then Image2.jpg now loads up for my Lock Screen.)

It keeps everything fresh and new. You see what I mean?

Thanks

Hi Brink,
I actually started looking around and got my foot in the door after finding that option that allows turning on or off a slide show.
I tried to add that folder of all the screen images that I have, which is located on a different hard disk drive:
X:/My Stuff/ ... /16x10 Widescreen Monitor (WXGA)/
And did everything that would 'save' those settings. Tried to lock the screen, still showed the default picture. I tried logging off, and logging in, still the same default picture. (Did not try restarting, because I'm assuming logging off is almost the same thing).
Then I saw your reply which states the "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\CachedFiles" and thought that this is actually so much more cooler than my idea =)
So I tried to go to the PC settings and all, and wanted to change to that folder... yet, darn!, apparently it doesn't show hidden folders there!
(Location: C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\CachedFiles) the AppData is the hidden folder.
I wanted to see if I can registry tweak it, but no... like it shows in your picture, SlideshowDirectoryPath1 is encrypted information.

So should I temporarily unhide it and see what I can do from there?

So I went ahead and unhid it.. and tried to go to that folder... but wow! I see no Microsoft folder, and that folder is not hidden! As a matter of fact, that's the Only folder that doesn't show up!! Arg.. what do you suggest?

Yeah, set to show hidden system files to see if it will show up to browse and select it.

Sorry I posted a reply before you did, if you haven't saw my reply, take a quick look. I already have the system to show hidden system files... =S
I really want to select that folder, yet it wont work apparently.
What else do you suggest? And if there's nothing I can do about it, my main question is how come when I added that Wallpaper folder, nothing really happened?

Do you have anything else in your X:\My stuff folder other than images?

The actual location of that folder is:
"X:\My Stuff\My Assets\My Electronics\My Computers\Customization\Collections\Wallpaper\16x10 Widescreen Monitor (WXGA)"
And no, there are 2350 jpg images only, nothing else, in that folder. I tried creating a temporary folder on the desktop and put a few images in there, with no luck. I tried to rename the images to very simple names with no (parentheses) or numbers 123, just letters, still no luck.

I will actually try to restart the computer, and see what happens from there. I will post a reply stating what happened. Be back soon.

Well, as a matter of fact, apparently the Lock Screen's default image is always the initial image. After about 10 seconds, it changes to show images from the wallpaper folder. It tricked me to think that it doesn't work since it always showed the default image at first. Yet, it actually does work now!
Thanks for your time and assistance!

I liked your idea of showing the current desktop image, but I guess that's not going to happen. I still love the current setting; it changes the image to a different one every 6-7 seconds or so, and it slowly zooms in/out, shows 3 images at once side by side (1 on the left half of the screen, another in the top right quarter of the screen, and another in the bottom right quarter of the screen.) It's pretty cool, I like this feature.
