Hello 8forum community,
I'm trying to create a uniform look on my Start and Apps screen by changing 3rd party program icons to somehow resemble the metro look. Has anyone successfully done this?
I tried this program ([APP] OblyTile - Tile Creator for all progra… | Windows 8, RT Development and Hacking | XDA Forums), but the tiles it created do not function like a shortcut, the way default tiles work. It lacks context menu, and you have to pin it on both Start and Apps screen (sometimes I just want to pin it on the Apps, and not the Start).
I tried also going to the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder and change the icon of the shortcuts with a metro-looking icon. However, in the Start and Apps screen, the whole icon is treated like an image so there is still that dreading "blank" border around the icon like on this samsung magician software.
I like windows 8 but the different looks in the icons really bothering me. Any help will be appreciated.
