Remove the "Focus Rectangle" from Icons Solved - Windows 7 Help Forums

Whenever I fresh install windows, be it xp, vista, 7, 8 or 8.1, I always remove that ugly focus rectangle.
It's just annoying and I'm surprised that MS hasn't removed it as it doesn't serve any purpose at all.
Up until now removing focus rectangle from various windows was not a problem.
But, recently I bought Lenovo Yoga 11s which was pre-installed with windows 8.1 in UEFI mode.
I've used windows 8 before, but this was the first time using windows 8.1 and UEFI bios.
It was quite a hassle figuring out the differences between legacy bios and UEFI.
When I powered up Yoga, the first thing I did was to remove focus rectangle, but it didn't work.
I installed x86 and x64 version of windows 8.1 couple of times, but I just couldn't get rid of it.
Finally, I switchd UEFI to legacy bios, and tryed it again.
This time it worked. Just like that focus rectanlge was gone.
I don't know if it's my notebook or my version of windows 8.1, but I'm quite sure that installing windows 8.1 in UEFI mode has something to do when it comes to removing focus rectangle.
