some icons are changed every time update is preformed

Hi,

Every time updates are preformed the icons I had changed (for Word, Excel, etc....) are returned to their original and the library icons that I had hidden on in the "My Computer" window are turned back on again.

Is there a way to have the updates run and not change these settings?

I use Windows 7 Manager by yamicsoft to change the icons. both the icons in the explorer windows and the desktop are being changed. They are changed with any windows update.

This never happens just on a reboot ? Only when an update is put in, sounds kind of strange for this to occur on updates for Windows 7. How often ? Say how often an update is going in. I would check with help from this program then on there site.

Myself,i never used this program when i had Windows 7, possible a setting within this program, how you are exactly doing it.
Say desktop icons or within program folder .exe icons.

Now i find this program good for doing this, plus you can make docks on your desktop to eliminate clutter regularly for $9.99 U.S

Oh its not just me then. I had custom icons on my desktop; eg: those created by the originator, and all have changed to a windows or browser default. Its a bloody nuisance and I tend to do visual search when on desktop as opposed to reading. Even my damn bank is no longer the right icon.
