Changing the File Explorer red warning on drive free space

Does anyone know how to change the red warning indicator on free space in Explorer?
I have over 300 GB of free space on a 4TB backup drive and I see that. I'd like to be able to change it to warn when I have, say, 500MB left.

EDIT: I believe it is hard-coded to warn at 10% free, but maybe that number is in the registry somewhere.

These are notes about adding a user registry policy under the Explorer key called 'NoLowDiskSpaceChecks'.
But that doesn't do it - that's for the popup balloon warning about critical low space, not the red color on the space used bar.

Hmm, for some reason when I read it the first time I thought your post was from a 3rd party. Must be coffee deprivation. :)
