Windows 8.1 | Default Icon as Shield | Help!

You will have to excuse me if this has already been answered in a separate thread.

Hello there, I have a problem and I know what causes it, though I am unable to fix it so I figured I could come here and ask for help. After using Stardock's Icon Packager, all my default icons have become the Windows 8.1 Shield Icon. By this I mean that if I download a new program (say Google Chrome) then it will appear as a Shield Icon until I change it manually. This is not really a huge problem, just really annoying and I would really like to change that.

If this is only happening to shortcut files, then you might see if using the tutorial below to restore the default shortcut arrow overlay icon may help.
If not, then you might see if rebuilding the icon cache may help. I doubt it, but it's worth a try to just rule it out.

If still not, then you could do a system restore using a restore point dated before using the Stardock program to undo and fix this.
If a system restore is not an available option for you, then you could try running a sfc /scannow command to repair any system files possibly modified by the Stardock program.
