DPI settings on the login screen

Hello everyone. I just got a new computer with Windows 8 on it, and I'm trying to set it up the way I want. One of the things I want to change is the DPI settings on the login screen. The DPI on the login screen is currently set to medium and I want it set to small/normal. Normally you would just change the "Make text and other items larger or smaller" settings in Display, but obviously that's per user, so it won't work on the login screen. I read that in Windows 7 this could be done using the registy by changing LogPixels in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop, but it won't work on Windows 8 (the login screen's registry settings are in HKEY_USERS\.Default if you need to know that). Any help would be great.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I still haven't figured this out. I did find this in the registry though:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ThemeManager > LastLoadedDPI
However, whenever I try changing this value from 120 to 96, it just resets itself to 120 when I log off. So how can I get it to remember the DPI settings I set?

Anyone? This seems like there should be a simple way to do this, but I can't find it anywhere! Why doesn't anyone seem to know how to do this?
