Downloading Executables to a Separate Folder

I have always used a separate folder within 'Downloads' to keep my executables all in one place in case of re-install. I've always been able to specify and have Windows remember this folder too, until Win8.

The downloads are still going to the Download folder, but I'm not able to specify where I want the download to be stored. Windows assumes that I want it in the Download folder.

This happens using EI, the Explorer app that comes with Win8, and Google Chrome.

Was I just too tired last night to see this option and missed it, or is there really no way to specify which folder you want to download something to anymore?

There is an option in Chrome. Click the Wrench, then Options. Then click Under The Hood on the left side. Then youll see Downloads where you can chose where to download. You can also have it ask you where to download each time.

Thanks Dave. I'll have a look in a second. I'm trying to get Services to the Metro desktop.

If you navigate to it in Windows Explorer you can right click and Pin to Start.

As far as IE 10 goes and downloads, I dont know how you can get the Save As option. I know you can change where you want all downloads to go to but for some stupid reason, they got rid of or hid the Save As option.
