Change size of caption bar in w8cp

Since there isn't any way to change the look of windows and menus in w8cp via Personalize|Window Color, how can I reduce the size of the caption bar along with the buttons on it? I tried changing it in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics but that didn't work.

Thanks.

I'm really surprised there is no response to this. That being as it may let me answer my own question as it might be useful for others.

On your Windows 7 system export HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics to disk, USB stick, etc. Boot into W8 and import your saved .reg file. Log off and then on and your windows will look like they do in W7.

There are some instructions available on the web but you have to be careful that they are for the same DPI that you run under otherwise things won't change much.

Providing a function to change the look of your windows in W8, as W7 does, would make a nice project for the coders out there.

You can do so by opening your Control Panel then selecting Appearance and Personalization then Display.
You will see an option that says Change only the text size, select Title bars on the drop down menu and then select the size you prefer on the drop down menu to the right. Click Apply and there you have it. Personally I prefer size 10. Hope this helps :)

(I haven't restarted my computer since I did this, so I do not know if it will return back to it's default afterwards :geek:)
