Hi guys,

Recently I have re-installed my windows. So then I also installed UxStyle with all my Windows files in original format. No patching has been done yet. After I installed UxStyle, I rebooted and then applied theme it worked very well no problem at all. But the next time I turned on my laptop. The theme was not working at all. I have contacted RAFAEL but he hasnt given me an answer since a long time.

PLEASE HELP

Go to the Task Manager, switch to Services, scroll down and find a service called "UnsignedThemes", restart the service, switch back to default Aero theme, and then switch to the theme you want to use. Worked for me.

Hello everyone, sorry for posting in a relatively old thread, but I thought it would be dumb to make the exact same one again.

I have the problem the OP described above, where the theme isnt loaded after restart. Droidge's suggestion "fixes it" but only until the next restart, where the theme is again reverted back to the default one.

Help? :)

Bump!

Yes I have exactly the same issue as alexctwo - Uxstyle works great until restart, but then the service doesn't seem to have any effect on reboot.

The "UnsignedThemes" service needs to be manually restarted (and the theme reloaded) every time the computer is restarted. Would be really grateful if anyone could figure out a way to resolve this minor annoyance!

Hello,
I'm having the problem as stated above. Did anyone figure it out?
At the moment I am restarting the service and reapplying the theme every time I boot.
As a workaround would anybody know how to create a windows task which automatically does this?
:ditto:

Hi Kitalor,

I had issues with uxstyle which almost broke my windows (black screen instead of login screen). After panicking and then luckily finding a solution to my problem online, I gave uxstyle one more try.

Reinstalled it and now it seems to work perfectly. Unfortunately I have no idea exactly what changed and I'm not about to start messing with it in order to find out! You may not find this answer particularly helpful, but I just wanted you to know that it is possible for it to run smoothly and without issue, I just don't know how exactly...

Thanks Benito,
I ended up uninstalling uxstyle - then installing a bunch of stuff as listed in this video (I suspect old-new explorer or ribbon disabler or ux ultra patcher might have changed something) How to install custom themes on Windows 8.1 FULL Tutorial - YouTube
then reinstalling uxstyle (ux ultra patcher didn't seem to do anything on its own though) and now things seem to be working as they should and i am able to live without the hideous BLINDING WHITE FOLDER BACKGROUNDS WHICH BURN MY EYES WHEN USiNG MY 46inch LED TV in MY BEDROOM!
Not a very definitive solution but I can't find much else online
