Windows 8.1 splash screen

Hello

My parents just purchased a new PC with Win 8.1. They asked me to remove the splash screen but I have no idea how to do this. If the word splash screen isn't correct then I'll do my best to describe what I'm referring to.
I currently run Win 8 and when I boot my system the first screen I see the Start screen. I click on the desktop icon in the bottom left corner and the desktop window appears and I'm ready to go. Now, in Win 8.1 there is a new screen which appears before the start screen. I don't know exactly what this is but I'd really like to deactivate it. In simple terms I just want to deactivate all of the windows except the desktop. Is there a main option to do this please?

If anybody understands what I'm referring to I'd appreciate hearing from you with help on how to turn that annoying page off.

Thank you.

Is the splash screen you are referring to from the motherboard? If so, in the BIOS you can disable it.

hi Dude

I'm not at the computer so I'll do my best to describe what I see when I am there. The screen is a simple wallpaper with a keyboard icon in the center of it and an administrator button (if I recall correctly). One has to click on the admin icon to switch over to the start screen.

Sorry, that's all I can provide at this time.

Thanks

I have never seen that myself. When you get a chance, get the model number of the computer. I forgot to say, Welcome to EightForums.

Hi.

Thanks both for replying back.
As for the screen in question, I won't be able to confirm the details until I visit them in the next few days. I was thinking this was far simpler than it appears. As soon as I have the exact details I'll come back and post an update.

David. I'll take your suggestion and look at the taskbar when I'm there next.

Thanks.

Hi again

I'm sitting in front of the computer and I see what can be described as a rainbow pattern screen. I click on it and a new screen appears with the name of the user that the computer is registered to, i.e. John. When I click on the name a digital keyboard appears. These are the two screens I'd like to remove.

Once again, I don't use Win 8.1 so I'm not exactly sure of the proper names for these screens. If anybody can please advise on how to disable them I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks again.
