Solved how to change font inside folders, nothing works

I have been working on this problem for two days now. I decided i need help. I have set up the desktop the way i want it with fonts and icons I can see. Even got my firefox set up. My problem is when i open any folder the font is so thin and small i can not read it. i did do the screen resolution and changed all to bold. that changed every thing except the font in the folders. I also did the regedit / DLG and DLG2 and changed the font there. It changed nothing . I even changed them to comic sans just to make sure . and yes i did restart. I also changed the SmCapture hight and width in Regedit/ Desktop with no change. What am i missing ? Thanks in Advance.

Yes I think that would be great . But i dont see any thing like that in windows 8.1. can you tell me how to get to it ?I would love to change every thing to look just like whats in the picture. and yes i am an XP dinosaur.

Check to see if the first item posted may work for you. It would be a lot easier if it does.

What part of Option Three (second item posted) are you not seeing?

the first option (Advanced Appearance Settings - Change Text Size for Items in Windows 8) does not change the font in the folders. the second option (Fonts - Change - Windows 7 Help Forums) is not available in windows 8 . If it was My self and every one else would just click ( classic ) and be done with it

Scroll down in the tutorial below until you see OPTION THREE. It's there in Windows 8.1 as well.

AHAH. when i go to personalize I have the button for (show color mixer) but i DO NOT have the ( Advanced appearance settings ) option. any idea how i can enable that ?

That's Option One that is no longer in Windows 8. You would need to look at Option Three instead.

Sorry it took a while to get back to you. but WOW thank you. I did have to change it a few times using different font. I figured out even tho it says do not use bold . I ended up making a new one and used Arial Bold. its Perfect. I can sit back and see it even with my glasses off. thank you so much . I hate to say it but i think the only one that likes windows 8 is Apple .
