I only wish I could change the color of the tiles and especially make the writing more visible. I ended up with the grey background which seems to be the best for my weak eyes.

Have you tried using the "Ease of Access Center" to make the tiles and the text bigger? Charm bar>Settings>more PC settings>Ease of Access Center>make everything on your screen bigger, slide switch to ON.

Yes I have tried that. But when I make it bigger (essentially increase the DPI), not everything will fit on the screen and I have to work with the scroll bar. That is not very convenient.

Note that both on my laptop and in vBox on my desktop I am working with a 16" screen. In vBox I cannot use i higher resolution than 1152x864 although it is a 22" screen which is normally 1680x1050.

You can tweak the tile color and tile text with the Start Screen Customizer.

Hi there
Is there a way to change the Icon inside the tile as well -- this customizer looks like a great start but probably could do with one or two "tweaks".

I appreciate your effort -- Freeware is great -- just suggesting a slight improvement which really would make this app "The Dogs B-----ks" !!.

Cheers and thanks

For now, the inability to use pictures for the start screen, is a Microsoft imposed limitation, the other changes should work.

how do u get this to work without it compromising mail, people and messaging apps? every time i install it, those apps dont work and if i system restore all is fine again so is definately bug in the apps. sfc /scannow it wipes the changes made by the wcp tools from the pc. anyone had this problem and figured it out?

Hi there
Don't mind that particular problem -- those are 3 apps I wouldn't use anyway -- I use OUTLOOK 2010 for email, LYNC for messaging etc etc and don't bother with a "People" type apps so that particular error doesn't bother me.

You can change the SIZE of those tiles however to smaller square ones. I don't really like having the HUGE tiles on my screen -- I don't need glasses as thick as Milk Bottles to see the screen which is what those large tiles would suggest I'm using.

Cheers
jimbo
