How do I change maximum number of rows in Start screen?

Hello,
Recently I have upgraded my notebook from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8 Pro and then to Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center. I noticed that the Start screen in Windows 8.1 shows on my laptop's 1366x768 display 4 rows of tiles on the Start screen.
However, at home, I usually attach an HDMI cable to my laptop and work on FullHD 1920x1080 display. Now the thing is that the Start screen displays 6 rows of tiles by default. I tried changing the Layout_MaximumRowCount DWORD value in the registry to 4, but unfortunately my Start screen still displays 4 rows of tiles no matter what I try.
So, does anyone have an idea how can I make the Start screen show only 4 tiles instead of 6 on FullHD? The reason I am asking for this is because I got accustomed to how the Start screen looked on my laptop's screen and it is very hard to memorize another layout just for when I work at home.
P.S. I also used the tutorial to enlarge things in the Modern environment, and it showed 4 tiles instead of 6, but Modern applications looked too big for me. I just want fewer rows on the Start screen, not bigger rows...
Thanks in advance.

Hello Vali, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Unfortunately, that option no longer works in Windows 8.1 since it's directly tied to the screen resolution now.

Currently the only thing that may help is OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to turn off Show more tiles.

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2690-start-screen-metro-apps-change-number-rows-windows-8-a.html

AND/OR

To turn on Make everything on your screen bigger to also reduce how many tiles can display.

Hope this helps, :)

OK, thank you, so my only option is the "Make everything on your screen bigger" as OPTION 1 does not work for me unfortunately... BTW, do you know if there is any registry key which gets changed when I use the Larger option in PC settings - Display from the "Make everything on your screen bigger" tutorial? Maybe I can make a small app which would toggle that setting when I am at the Start screen and then for every other app revert it back...
