I have Windows 8.1 and when I'm on the desktop it has that Windows transparency which I don't like. Is there a way to disable it?

Hello Frank,

If you like, the free program Classic Shell has an option below to disable taskbar transparency.

Hope this helps. :)

I installed Classic Shell and was able to accomplish what I wanted. When I first opened it, it showed only 3 tabs: Title bar, Status bar and Language. It didn't show all of the tabs like the one shown here by Shawn, but I managed to get it that way. But now that I want to do it again, I don't remember how I did it. It still shows only the three tabs. Can someone please refresh my memory.

No worries Frank. I'm going to be posting a new tutorial later today on how to disable taskbar transparency using a theme that's much easier to do without having to use a 3rd party program.

I'll post back with a link to the tutorial when it's posted. :)

Glad to hear it, Shawn because I'd like to disable the transparency without using Classic Shell. If we ever meet for coffee, I'm buying.
