I have always liked to have the Computer icon on my desktop. I was able to do it with Windows 8, but I cannot find a way to do it with 8.1. Does anyone know if there is a way--even if I have to do it in the registry?

Hello (Frank1). Easy to do. Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Click on Personalization >
or right click on desktop and select Personalize

Click on change desktop icons > Click on (or tick on) Computer (set to show desktop icons)
Then > you can (right click on) rename This PC to My Computer or anything else.

Right Click on the desktop, select view and show desktop icons.

Hope this helps.
