Cool use for Chrome App Shortcuts
I've just started fiddling with Chrome App shortcuts and come up with something like this (it's not as good as the IE version, but still, notice the FB/Twitter/8 Forums tiles):
To get this to work you just need to make sure you pin the app to the start menu.

So .... what?
You can change font color, tile color, back ground image, boot up screen color and a whole host of other things.
Again, so ... what?
With MS's Dev blogs and their focus on customization, this might change but, for now ... so ... what?
You're so confusing!
If you take a look at how a person pins app shortcuts with IE, each app shortcut has an individual colour (or so I can recall). With that customization mod, it's one colour for all.

Um, no they don't with Win8 8102, Avalon.
Oh, sorry. I thought they would've... Could've sworn I saw a screenshot somewhere (but I finally got rid of my metro IE, so not sure)...

Indeed, it is, but what are the colors of the pinned IE "apps," Avalon?
Your recollection belies your suppositions.
I will admit I haven't tried to pin an "app" from IE as I don't use it and never will (look at my sig).
Hm, I guess you're right.
Well, I'm wondering if there is a way to design a metro style tile icon and tie it to an application shortcut, that when loaded in the start screen, would appear to be a custom tile (so that we can start designing our own tiles)... But I'm not sure if that's possible.
