Solved Customize!

Hey! Just wanted to ask you people on how to get a customized look for the taskbar and file explorer windows.
I'm using rainmeter to make my desktop unique and i'm wondering if someone knows here how to change the look of the taskbar and file explorer windows to match my rainmeter skin.

There are many third party applications that can bring your start orb back on windows 8.

Use a custom Visual Style to change the general appearance of the Windows shell and you could use 7tsp to apply the theme and change the system icons. The web has has lots of stuff for it and is super easy to use and is stable. Just have a google about for "7tsp". The site I linked has heaps of stuff as well.

7tsp is an amazing tool which allows you to customize Windows in a simple way with just few mouse clicks. Although primarily a Windows 7 patcher, 7tsp also works properly on Windows 8.


The patcher will back up the original (current) system files, and patch your Windows with a resource pack.Modifications can include icons, bitmaps, cursors, visual style, Start button, side panel, logon screen, sounds, fonts, task manager colors, copy animation colors, etc.

I use a Visual Style called "Base" and is very similar , Got it HERE and I use StartIsBack for the Start Menu and it costs $3.00 USD. I used to use a completely dark theme but its really hard to get it working 100% as some fonts cant be changed and you end up with "black on black" and it becomes a pain to change system .dlls ( Fairly easy to mess up your system as well lol).

Can you use an Image editor , Like Photoshop ? Its not that hard to make a Visual Style if you have the time and patience. A Good way to start out is find something you like and then build on top of it. If you find out who made the theme ,9 times out of 10 they will help you out with any questions or problems. Rainmeter is really easy to edit as well.

Maybe THIS cursor , Its got a nice animation on it and would fit in well to the general theme you was after.

DeviantArt is a cool place to find stuff for customisation and the stuff is mostly free. Some really good user groups , all depends what you are after.
