Hello Guys I want only A start button to access The Metro Start Button because I don't like to click the invisible corner on the Task bar . So I want to ask that should I use Start8 for this purpose?.

I have read somewhere that Start8 cause Black Screen at startup and other boot errors. Should I use Start8?

Is there any other Utility, Tweak or software who can do my job. I just want a start button at the left-bottom corner of my taskbar which when I will click it wiil access the Metro start screen.

Thanks............ :)

I paid for Start8 and it's been just fine for me. I went with Start8 as I also wanted the Decor8 package and they have a deal where you can get both for $7.99.

It's caused me absolutely no trouble at all.

If all you want is a button to show the start screen, both Classic Shell (free) and Start8 (paid) will do the job. Both will allow you to set the button and the Win key to open the start screen instead of the start menu.

Classic Shell has more capabilities for the start button (it allows the start button to be larger than that taskbar). Start8 has more capabilities for how to show the start screen (it can show it in smaller size instead of fullscreen).

Looks like startisback will not work from windows blue onwards.

Classic Shell not working with current Blue build either - I expect Ivo will fix that.

Iobit and startmenu x both working ok.

Don't know about the others.

"Start" Screen Shortcut - Create in Windows 8 This will do what you are asking to replace the invisible corner

"All Apps" Shortcut - Create in Windows 8 This will take you to All apps screen which allows you to see all Apps pinned & not pinned to Metro Start (lets you scroll without right clicking)

Don't forget you can right click the invisible Start in lower left corner for more Accesibility

Another little tip. If you install Rocket Dock (which is extremely handy), you get a shortcut for "All Control Panel Items". That proved to be very useful. Note: The picture shows only part of it.

You can pin Control Panel to taskbar which should = All Control Panel Items.
"Start" Screen Shortcut - Create in Windows 8 = Lower left click replacement being sought
"All Apps" Shortcut - Create in Windows 8 = All apps screen w/ smaller tiles like you show
Start Menu Toolbar - Create on Windows 8 Taskbar = the Start Menu you get by right clicking on the popout in lower left corner

No offense to third party apps but, it these work well from within. and it looks like some 3rd party may have problems in future

Hello Guys Will this software Work?

8StartButton

https://www.totalidea.com/8startbutton/

Save $9.95 and add those shortcuts to your taskbar yourself

"Start" Screen Shortcut - Create in Windows 8 = a blue orb you'll like
Instead of clicking Lower left corner or using Winkey to see Start Screen

"All Apps" Shortcut - Create in Windows 8 = All apps screen w/ smaller tiles immediately from desktop. Without right clicking the Start Screen and clicking All apps in lower right corner. ( I pinned this to Taskbar & Start Screen )

Start Menu Toolbar - Create on Windows 8 Taskbar = Faster than waiting for the Start Menu popout in lower left corner and right clicking it for Accessibility to more features ( I pinned this to Taskbar & Start Screen )

Pin File Explorer to your taskbar.

You can pin Control Panel to taskbar which should = All Control Panel Items.

Right, I have done all that too. But that is not the same thing. And Rocket Dock is a solid program as far as I can tell. Have used it since Vista and it works well in Win8. It is a good addition when the taskbar gets crowded. And for the masses of shortcuts (programs, URLs and folders) I use the toolbar.

I tried it on xp for a few days. Nothing wrong with it that I remember.
