Hi there
Maybe my eyes aren't working but the AERO effect doesn't look that great compared with the normal background -- and I have a good EXPENSIVE monitor. I think maybe Ms were right in getting rid of it for W8.

Perhaps it's the transparency adjustment - the window bar is transparent but doesn't IMO add anything to the readability of the desktop - so to me it just looks like another bog standard Windows theme --nothing wrong -- just different but not special so what am I missing?.

My old XP screen looks better no aero but IMO a much better more readable screen

Here's an image from my XP VM -- seems clearer and windows easier to read too

cheers

Hi 8Franz, nice to know that UxTheme Patcher works in w8, I used to use that in my Vista and always broke my system stability. I should try that in w8.
