Hi,

when I lock my computer in windows 8, it goes straight to selecting the username.

I've tried to make it go to the lock screen by following the tutorial on this site. I could only use the registry method because I have windows 8 home and gpedit only works on pro and higher. I tried it but it still went to the username bit.

Is there any program that could change it for me.

Thanks

Al

Mine does the same thing. I think it started doing it after I added the ability to authenticate with fingerprint.

The whole login/lock screen sequence on Windows 8 is a little twitchy. I noticed that when I login, it momentarily shows the lock screen then goes to a Welcome screen, then finally the Start screen.

Hello Al,

After you lock the computer, does the lock screen appear if it sits idle for a few moments?

If not, is this the tutorial below you use to enable the lock screen?
If so, then see if enabling the secure (CTRL+ALT+DEL) screen for the lock screen using the tutorial below will do it.
Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

Hi Brink,

I enabled the ctrl+alt+del option and now the lock screen shows up. Thanks for your help!
