I have a legit copy of windows 8 pro running, when I first start up the computer the windows screensavers run fine, ie, mystify, bubbles, etc but after a few days the screensavers fail to turn on after the computer has been idled for the time set to turn on the screensavers, after the computer is restarted then the screensavers work again.

the instance above just keeps happening, getting tired of having to restart windows 8 all the time just to keep the screensavers running, can anyone after a suggestion on how to fix it?

thanks

Weird stuff!

I don't use screensavers but my bet is that is got something to do with the hybrid boot or hibernation settings.
It's just a hunch: since it's not happening after restart, also restart is the one that resets up-time counter in Task Manager, then system is refreshed again.

See how much Up-time the system has without the restarts (can be a fe days/hours and counts up even after shut downs). The screensavers use the same notion of time.

I can be wrong about this but I've encountered some weird hangs and programs crashes with the hybrid boot enabled and restart was always fixing things up so this is the coincidence that made me write this.

Suggestion:
Turn hybrid boot/shutdown off and see how it goes with the screensavers.

Note that turning it off will decrease boot performance.
If no change seen, turn it back to on/default.
