I am just wondering if there is a way to edit the list of items that appear on the drop down menu of "move to" and "copy to" on the explorer ribbon?

Some items seem to appear themselves but I do not know how they got there, how I could remove them and add others?

Does windows learn what folders you use most and decide for itself what to add to the list?

Thanks for your feedback :)

I actually didn't know you could move the quick access toolbar to below the ribbon! Must have missed that option even though it was staring me right in front of my face! lol! Now i have moved it down so it's a little easier to use and minimized the ribbon instead.

Still would be interesting to know if Windows automatically adds most used folders to that list, and I cant find any reference to it anywhere on the net (not yet anyway). Maybe some clever person will come up with a tool to edit the list in the future (I hope).

And another thing that annoys me is why cant we re-arrange the quick access toolbar? lol

:sarc:

You could rearrange the quick access toolbar, but it would take removing the items, then adding them back in the order you want them. :(

I just woked that one out...but it's a pain :(
Ideally it would be nice to be able to drag the items around. Also it would be nice to have a customise option on the ribbon like the office ribbon...but I guess Microsoft didnt think of that. Maybe by the time Windows 9 or 10 arrives someone would have thought of it :) lol

After killing two hours, I find the only way is to remove the jump list checks from the taskbar properties and set to 0, but that still leaves the defaults... If you re-enable, you can set from 1-60...

;) I just stumbled upon this, but here's how to add what you want to the Copy to/Move to dropdown lists in the Ribbon: Apparently it uses the first 10 pinned folders that are pinned to the File Explorer icon located in the Taskbar. So to add a particular folder to the Ribbon dropdown Copy to list, just pin the folder you want to your Taskbar File Explorer icon. It worked immediately for me. Give it a go and see if it works for you too!
