Is there a way to disable the Metro Interface?

I love Windows 8, except of two things. Start menu changed to a fullscreen tablet friendly interface and also the tablet friendly interface.

It's great for tablets. Not so great for desktops. I have Start8 to get back the old start menu, but I just want to Disable Metro now.

Other than that, I like Windows 8 except that change.

Does anyone know how to disable Metro?

I am not sure how to do that, and from what I read, MS always blocks new hacks that disables the Metro interface..

If you really dislike it, you can set the Desktop tile to be the extreme top left tile. Whenever you boot up and the Metro interface loads, hit the Enter Key and you will be immediately transported to the Desktop view. :D

Is it not possible to set up a script in the group policy to launch the desktop immediately upon boot?

I haven't looked further in to things but I would be damned if there wasn't a way.

Yeah, if you are using Windows 8, you are going to have Metro. That's the way it is, they don't provide choices or options here.

A lot of people don't want Metro, telling them to stay with 7 will be bad for W8. I upgraded because it was $15 and I like being updated. I just don't like Metro and currently using Start8 to ignore it.

what you want I say, it's over a year that I say that forcing peoples to use Metro Crap on a desktop is plain stupid, they will pay the price for it don't worry. But as I own a computer shop I have to learn it, so I try the Developer version last fall, the Consumer Preview last spring and I have the final release install on my main PC since August 15th and I learn to deal with it, honestly it's not that hard.

Metro Crap will be great if the stupid Steven Sinofsky will have make it running in windows, re sizable, but this guy is too much in his bubble to think about other peoples than himself.

Going to try it. Thanks.

Edit: Nvm, don't like the look of the old start menu. Doesn't fit with the new Metro theme for desktop.
