Sugary drinks over 16oz banned in NYC

Hard to believe this passed, ( I can see getting rid of absurdly big drinks, but a max size of 16oz to me seems a bit hard to fathom).

Large sugary drinks are on their way out of New York City restaurants. New York City's Board of Health today passed a rule banning super-sized, sugary drinks at restaurants, concession stands and other eateries.The ban passed Thursday will place a limit of 16-ounces on bottles and cups of sugar-containing sodas and other non-diet sweetened beverages beginning in March 2013.

I follow the concept.

If you order a drink - you will probably drink the whole thing.

If it is a smaller serving - you will consume fewer calories.

Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

I don't believe government agencies should be limiting choices.

It is wrong.

Smokers are treated like lepers used to be in some places - that is wrong also.

This small minded "we know better than you " attitude is sickening.
