I got to spend the day fighting the ant break in...

So I woke up this morning (well, afternoon) to a swarm of ants all over my floor, trash can, and under my bed.
I followed the trail and saw that they were coming in from the hole in the floor where the internet and phone lines run up.

After a few minutes of research, I walked down to the grocery store and bought some dish soap, a spray bottle, and baby powder.

Once I got back, I mixed the soap in the spray bottle with water, and sprayed down the entirety of the trail that I could reach. I then liberally applied the baby powder on and around their entrance hole.

In the space of about 10 minutes, I killed every any in my room and successfully blocked their entrance back in. How is that for the power of simple chemicals?

Yeah no fun to wake and find a million ants reenacting The Naked Jungle in your home! But as you know, you have to find where they come in. Maybe they just wanted to wish you a happy birthday

I consider this an annoying but good learning experiment, I now know how to get rid of ants quickly.

Pour Hot water onto there Nest then get some ant spray and Cover the Nest

Not the most practical but my Mum does it and it works

The nest wasn't outside, they were just coming in through a hole in the floor.
