Yes I know it's also my friend in Canada's as well but she's a bit older than John, I think this one is 72 for her, and my neighbour had her 80th on Friday, Junes a good month for birthdays.

Today could have gone better but it was a life lesson none the less .

Across the pond(US) if one is not working or doing to his/her capacity we call it a "half assed job!"
Meaning they are not giving it a 100% effort.
