You have that correct! I worked a gas station my junior year 1967/8. They had a special.....10 gallons for 2 bucks! What does that say about inflation over the years?!!

Yes they were, Mikie! Driving muscle cars that got like 7 to 9 MPH. I myself had a 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 cubes 4brl 375 HP 4 speed Hurst w/ cowl induction. I paid $4,900 for it. The last time I saw that model auction off on TV it went for $125 grand! I nearly cried! If I only knew!

We used to hit the local town quarter mile road track 2 or 3 times a week. I remember I had a hard time against a AMX with 390 cube V8 above all cars! He would beat me 2 outa 3 times. His engine didn't last long, though. High compression plus light weight. I think he rebuilt that engine 2 or 3 times before getting rid of it.

My buddy's 1st car was a 1960 or 61 Oldsmobile Starfire convertible w/ power everything and center console. This thing was sweet. It had a 394 Skyrocket V8 engine 4BBL Rochester and generated 330 hp. He would kinda keep up with me off the line with his weight/traction, but by 3rd gear I was way ahead of him. It went quite well for a tank. It probably would have performed better with a manual tranny. He'd only get like 6 to 8 MPG! I got like 10 to 12 MPH depending whether I put my foot in it or not.

There was a fella in town that had a custom 57 Chevy. I think it had a modified 427 in it. He taped a $100 to the passenger side of the dash. He told everyone that they could have it if they could get it off the dash through the quarter mile. I tried it a few times. No way! Too many G's! I tried my best between gears, but got slammed against the seat as soon as he popped the clutch again.

Anywho, Let's see...If we paid 20 cents/gal divided by 10 MPH average -> 20/10 = 2 cents a mile. Today we drive vehicles with lets say 25 MPG as average and pay $4.00/gal -> 400/25 = 16 cents a mile. 16/2 = 8 Xs the amount we're paying now! I'm aware that energy is probably more costly elsewhere than here in the States and shouldn't rant, but I am!! I'm hoping to fully retire in a few years! It's gonna' be close!

Inflation has been eating at us too long! Quit printing money to pay for a government that's too big!!!

I know what all we U.S. citizens can all do........We'll put the government in a gigantic dryer and shrink it!

Are you saying 2 liters is $1 USD? Pertamax plus 1 liter is $1 USD?

There's 3.785411784 liters to our U.S. gallon. So, you're roughly paying $2 USD for 4 liters or roughly 1 U.S. gallon of low octane?

Roughly $4 a gallon for high octane Pertamax? Have I got that correct?

We pay $4 USD for low octane. High octane add about 30 cents. Diesel is even more because of demand.

Our low octane, which most cars run on, is about 85 AKI. Premium is about 91 AKI.

$3.90??? That can't be right, here in Kentucky, it is $4.26 a gallon and THAT'S the cheap stuff (Marathon gas) Shell, etc. is 3 or 4 cents a gallon more.
