No offense Kevin, but if you've never had Texican (Texas/Mexico combination) chili, YOU'VE never had chili.

Well. I saw it on TV. I believe they are among people who never leave that hot stuff in food serving. I experienced once a specific green small chili ringing my ear from the first bite. Get rid of that nasty chili for good.

Well that actually depends on what you consider good. People expect chili to be tongue numbing hot. Which in my opinion isn't what makes it tasty. Texican chili is balanced between taste and heat, so when you take a spoonful in your mouth, you get flavor, and not blisters on your tongue. Chili originated in Mexico, and was brought over to the USA shorty after Texas fought at the Alamo, it gave the flavor, charm, and taste of Mexico, it was served originally in (deep fried)tortilla shells in the shape of a bowl. And for many decades was considered a meal more than your usual type of fast food. Texican Chili prep time is in excess of 4 hours. Actual cooking time is on a very low flame for 8 hours. Texican chili has won awards all across the world, including being served to royalty.

Yea, I'm surprised some of those chili peppers don't burn a whole in the pot they're cooked in! I like it, but heartburn awakes me at 2:00 a.m.

Wow hearing you talk about chili like that reminded me of my friend Heirloom (Roland to give him his name) he's a Texan and we used to have some very good discussions on the WinME Newsgroup, I miss them.

I've had both and you can get the full range in Sumatrian food, some can be very hot.
The local chilli there is very flavorful, great food.

Check in your area, I know they have Indonesian restaurants in Houston.

Today, as in recent days, the price of gasoline in the States at the pump keeps going up while the price of a barrel keeps going down. What gives with that?!!! Just airing out in the Chillout Room.

That's just ONE part of it. With the increased cost of gasoline, comes the increase of food cost as well.
Looks like a case of when the s**t hits the fan.
