Where are those people going for help?

Mungkin mereka tidak berbicara dalam bahasa Inggris.

Kami mempunyai pengunjung di sini dari Indonesia.

(Sorry, my Indonesian is not very good anymore)

    Maybe they can't speak English.

We've had visitors from Indonesia before.

    Dave.
Hey that is perfectly spoken. When did you learn that?

Many Indonesian speak good English, but mostly not. Almost three years being with SF I just met two Indonesian here, one of them got banned (for not behaving himself or breaking forum's rule).

I meet many computer geeks offline, but they just join local forums. Me joining this forum wasn't of being expert but just to entertain my curiosity. Though not helping other much, I do learn much. Sound selfish but my English prevents me from comprehending too wide topic of PC problem, not to mention lack of tech knowledge. You know aggressively giving help might cause me getting loss on the way
btw have you been to Indonesia, Dave?

    Today
Helped a marketing department officer who regularly receives 70 to 100 pages document written with open office and converted to DOC files. What makes me have a headache is when the file consist of continuous and various tables. Almost 70 percent of the table is scrambled. Not really easy to fix it as it behaves strangely when the table are resized, just like having certain unknown code in it. Some table even jump and overlap with header and footer, and not affected by mouse cursor.
The strangest thing is, the files are coming from a leading private pharmaceutical company in which by force only have Linux system, have no single Microsoft OS or software installed.
The simple way is available. Install open office, done. The question is, how to spread the file as electronic document to all departments? Install open office to those hundreds machines? I'd better take a leave when more documents are coming.

This is what I'm speaking of. $200 verses $1,000. Where's the level playing field? It's no more when people are willing to work for that. I understand they have to to survive, but it's more like they don't really have a choice. Also, in their economy, does this even pay the rent?

I need to clear $3,500 USD a month here to live what I consider a somewhat comfortable living. I am mortgage free with some toys.
How many of you does that have to cover, here I have to manage on about £1,600 a month living in rented accomodation so no mortgage, that's for 2 of us.

    I believe it's Dave's.

I guess less modern life in Sumatra made Dave find how people see each other.

'The Company' decided to transfer me, the usual assignment was two years so I managed to stay longer than most.

Kevin, 'less modern life' is a good description.
Saw a lot of the jungle, big snakes 20+ footers, chainlink small enclosures every 2 km (in some areas) just in case your vehicle broke down - it's for people to get in, tiger country, big tigers.
    Best assignment of my career.

That was quite an experience, Dave.
I myself ever lived in South Sumatra (Lampung actually) for few years but eventually left as needed to boost my career in health care provider.

Was also getting used to every kind of chilly hot food.
