Went to the cricket last night (Sri Lanka vs. Australia). I had to leave school early at 1.00pm and we got home at 1.00am so half a day of fun.

'Twas an excellent game, I'm glad Sri Lanka won. They had to win to get into the finals as Australia was already in. Now we just need to wait and see how the rest of the series turns out!

Today, I upgraded my system and installed it in a new case. Details are in my spec. This wasn't a complete rebuild in the sense that many components were reused - Motherboard/CPU, Samsung 500GB HDDs, PSU, Keyboard/Mouse/CTF-430 T&P. I installed a Bluray drive in place of the optical drives previously installed, added a Hitachi 1TB HDD, replaced the card reader and removed the floppy drive (never used it). Also exchanged the HP printer for the Lexmark one that was my late father's.

It's doing great. Just one or two things to tidy up - I've got the SATA ports jumbled up, and I need to do some cable tidying. I must say that it's nice to have HD audio on the front panel. At last, I can use my headphones and have the monitor speakers be muted automatically without having to press the mute button on the monitor.

Are you talking the Loma Prieta earthquake in 89, Bill? I was watching the Oakland/SF world series game that evening when the TV went fuzzy. My first thought was that the TV blew.
