Bon, comment est le climat au Québec?
(Good, how is the weather in Quebec?)

Quest-ce que tu aime les panneaux d'arrêt?
(Do you like the Stop signs?) a touch random but oh well .

That's my French at it's best, I'm not even sure if it's completely correct.

Shouldn't the Quest-ce que be Qu'est-ce que? (P.S My French is just as bad, we need one of you experts to help us out!)

I think you're right (I never could spell in any language), maybe between us we can get it right .

    Thanks Richard.

Portuguese is my native language, I can speak English and Southern and can survive in Dutch and maybe in German (I can't really hold a conversation in German)

Because of the Latin mother tongue, I can understand and fake Spanish pretty well, as well as understand some Italian (written). I can't understand French at all.

    Brazilian or Portugese Portugese?

As Portugese has been described as the flower of Latin do you actually speek/understand Latin or is it just similar like ancient Greek is to modern Greek?

    Oli

PS I would never have guessed English wasn't your first language.

I'm a native English speaker. I don't seem to have much of an ear for picking up others. Babes like Shu Qi and Kanno Miho make me instantly expert at Body Language though!! They speak my language in any tongue.

It's too bad you can't just pipe the knowledge in like in The Matrix. It would be fun to be able to communicate with other people in their own country in their own language fluently. But I don't have the money to go there anyway. Wherever it is.

Hi Oli, I am in now. changing the skin worked.

Brazilian, I was born and raised there. Been here for 10 years after a couple in The Netherlands. My spoken accent is much stronger than my written one... Thanks for the compliment though

I don't think I can understand Latin, written or spoken (whcih I might have heard in church, although I am not THAT old...). I believe Portuguese evolved from Vulgar Latin which is different from the Classic one and I beleive the latter is what is taought today (I just learnerd that Vulgar Latin had no written form) . Anyway, not my speciality, so don't trust me on this...
