I think it'd be more stressful for me to have this auto-pilot thingie. I'd never trust it, even if the technology is sound. I already have a hard time letting someone else drive my car, I'm not about to let a computer do it. Control issues I guess.

What will likely happen is it will only be possible to fit in traffic if the computers coordinate everything. Cars will be going 480 mph with 10 cm gap between the cars. Those insisting on manual driving will be relegated to the 100 mph max zones. Before you can drive to the party it's already over. You'll feel the peer pressure to switch to Auto in your auto. :)

Well they'll still need them to gush blood, burn to death etc.. else ticket prices would go way down. It would be like watching Robot Football on The Jetsons. No blood no gore no profits. :)
