Fake ad tells iPhone 6 owners they can charge phone in microwave :D

"...A phony ad circulating on the Internet has fooled some iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners into believing they can quickly charge their phones by putting them in a microwave oven. It has led to some broken-hearted iPhone owners with cooked devices..."

Wow! Just wow! Up to now, I've been charging mine by rubbing it on the carpet so the static electricity could charge it. :roflmao:

Oh yeah? I fixed my old MacBook Pro by baking the logic board in the oven for 20 minutes at 200 degrees.

It worked. The solder melted or something like that.

Edit: really I did I'm not joking.

OK I looked him up. Can't say I'd heard of the guy but
When Barnum's biographer, Arthur H. Saxon, tried to track down when Barnum had uttered this phrase, he was unable to verify it. According to Saxon, "There's no contemporary account of it, or even any suggestion that the word 'sucker' was used in the derogatory sense in his day. Barnum was just not the type to disparage his patrons.

Seems a decent gent though There's a sucker born every minute - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They did this a couple years ago when there was information making it's rounds on the net stating that you could download an app that would make your iPhone waterproof. People fell for that one too.

I find it interesting that these types of "pranks" are only presented to iPhone users, I've never seen such things attempted for Android phone users. Is it because it's assumed that Android users are more tech savvy and wouldn't get sucked in?

I find it even more interesting that there are people out there that will fall for these pranks. How do they get their shoes tied in the morning? :D

I don't even own a smartphone. I have an LG840G feature phone on Tracfone. It costs about $ 7.00 a month. I thinking about moving up to one of their android smartphones. Those start at about $20 with no contract. I don't really want to surf the internet on my phone. I have a tablet or laptop for that.

The IPhone thing gives a whole new meaning to fanatic. Running out and buying the latest iteration as soon as it is released at top dollar is something I just don't understand. Especially when I see how young many of the fans are, they sure have more money to burn than I did at that age.

I don't use my phone to surf the web but it sure comes in handy to lookup info while I'm out & about. Then there's all the other things a smartphone can do such as camera, gps, music/video player, etc...
