Hi there
Calling all Soccer fans (I.e FOOTBALL played with a ROUND ball and where you actually have to KICK the ball) -- enjoy the tournament. Starts this Thur.

Brazil / Argentina probably will win it - with Uruguay and Spain challenging hard. Nobody can of course ignore Germany -and the surprise team this time might be tiny Belgium.

Enjoy.

Cheers

My bet is Brazil x Germany

:)

I didn't like the way that Brazil played against Croatia. Hulk, Marcelo and Fred didn't perform well. Let's see what happens against Mexico.

Just noticed there has never been 3 consecutive WC wins from either South American nor European teams... mostly it's been alternate, but when back-to-back wins from one of them occur the other wins the following WC... i.e the last two WC's were won by European teams thus this will most likely be won by a South American team...

So what's with the Suarez guy...If you can't beat 'em eat 'em?

Luis Suarez, Uruguay striker, charged by FIFA for biting incident - FIFA World Cup 2014 - CBC

Personally I have had enough - life-time ban I'd say

I AGREE!!! What an animal this guy is... A big shame for a GREAT tournament so far with some very exciting matches.

~ Cheers

Hi there.

I'd make the guy wear a plastic dog muzzle for the next 12 months -- that will embarrass him far more than a ban -- and imagine the fun the "Away" supporters will have seeing the player come out on to the pitch wearing a dog muzzle. !!

Cheers

Whats the TV coverage like for others around the world

Here in the UK it is taking over our 2 main free tv providers (BBC & ITV)

@jimbo45, I like the idea of a muzzle, I would probably watch a Liverpool game if this happened

Hi there.

I'm usually in a decent sports Bar watching the games. At home though I get it via Live streaming feeds -- we have excellent Internet speeds and no restrictions on streaming this sort of stuff -- HD quality IMO is BETTER than what you get on TV. You need fast broadband for it though - also with no limit on usage.

That sounds great, I live in the country in the UK so get terrible BB speeds (not even good enough for SD quality) so sport is out on it

I remember back to 1998 I was working in Holland and watched all the matches their in a sports bar, it was a great experience seeing it in another country

Hi there

Amazing tournament so far -- forget the politics, the football has been for the most part absolutely outstanding with UNPREDICTABLE results -- Spain going out, Brazil the hosts just squeaking by on a Penalty shootout, Holland scoring TWO in the last few minutes -- Well it had to happen - their coach is going to Man Utd -- and we all know about "Fergie Time" where Man Utd would inevitably win in the "95th minute" !

Actually I rather fancy Costa Rica to possibly beat Holland in their next game -- they could certainly teach England a thing about penalty shootouts - they got all 5 and were the coolest penalties I've ever seen taken at these sorts of game -- no nerves from any one -- well done Costa Rica.

Never under estimate the Germans too -- they have a knack of winning even when they play badly -- and Belgium -- they should polish off Algeria.

Loads of Goals this time -- really enjoying this tournament -- and the way it's going I don't think ENGLAND should even BOTHER entering the Euros (2016) unless they change their whole game plan completely -- I'd imagine even the Faroese Islands would give them a good game with the England setup they have - With the Premier League England should have at least made the last 16.

Enjoy the rest of the tournament - even the USA is beginning to like the "Round Ball" game and their team has been doing OK too.

Cheers
