Cable TV sucks

I am watching free movies & TV on YouTube.

My cable bill is $150 a month for crap they show over & over.

Tomorrow I'm going to the local Comcast office & reducing my bill by $100 dollars.

I just want the basic channels.

The Weather channel mainly.

To heck with the rest of them.

I remember when the Feds made cable tv repay folks for over charging people.
They are crooks in my opinion.

I'm just venting.

Cable tv P***** me off.

They charge way too much for what they offer.

Having a computer where I can watch pretty much unlimited free movies & tv is better & cheaper.

Done ranting now. :)

I agree with you 100%

We pay $110 for what "they" call "Everything" unless of course you want sport, apparently that isn't included in "Everything" Oh, then there are the new releases, this is also not included in "Everything' that is called "pay as you go" The multi cultural news ... is not an "Everything"

Everything has taken on a new meaning since "I was a lad"

Oh my God, seriously.

Who the blue hell would watch people buy abandoned storage rental units and try to make money of what was in them? Or watch honey boo boo child dump 14 gallons of mayonnaise into a tub and bathe in it? Or competitive cooking shows where the judges always say it just wasn't good enough.

What a waste of brain cells... Holy cow.

Very true. I stopped watching TV in the US since 10 years - because of the commercials and there is really zero true information you get. We still have basic TV for $28 because the wife wants to watch the sods.

In Germany I pay appr. $25 for 350 channels from two dozen countries - half of them are commercial free and a lot have very high quality programs. I like to watch TV from many countries. That gives you a different perspective of things - eapecially on political subjects because the comments from different countries are very different and show you all aspects of a subject.

I just stick with basic over-the-air channels and if there are some interesting shows that are on cable, I go to the interwebs for those few.

This last week I was on vacation and I was channel surfing for the first couple of nights to see what's on cable. Wow. Just wow. It's amazing people pay to watch that stuff.

I also do like to watch European news channels when I get the chance to. Very interesting stuff.

I don't know. I have lived in many countries (not Australia though). There is no country I know where TV is as 'basic' as in the US and polluted with all those commercials.

Australia is the same, commercials run for ever and they are intellectually insulting. The only difference I know of is that in Australia there is probably only 5 stations to choose from so there is no escape.

They charge way too much for what they offer.

I cancelled my Comcast tv completely about 2 years ago.
Only use broadband. Lucky in this region to have broadband.
TV is exclusively Netflix, Hulu, YouTube or Amazon.

(I also cancelled telephone service and use only a cell phone)

Sympathies for those with others in your personal situation that want TV.
Kids might want it, etc...

I put out a digital TV antenna on the roof which picks up a few stations ok.

Holy cow.

I know several people, including myself, who watches the storage locker shows. Sometimes I learn a nice bit of history I didn't know before. Does get boring though.

My impressio0n of the few cooking shows I have watched is the judges like to make fun of people.

The rest, too idiotic to watch.

My wife watches a lot of cooking shows. I watch the storage locker stuff now and then. My interest is more in auto racing, history channel, discovery channel, and movies. We pay way to much that's for sure. My wife would divorce me if I had it disconnected. We're on fiber, TV, Internet and Phone. We can only get 2 channels over the air and still need a digital receiver to watch them. There are days I'd like to just go out and cut the wire and give them the finger.

Do you have to pay for satellite. In Europe satellite TV is free and you have half a dozen satellites with n-teen channels each.

I am watching free movies & TV on YouTube.

My cable bill is $150 a month for crap they show over & over.

Tomorrow I'm going to the local Comcast office & reducing my bill by $100 dollars.

...Done ranting now. :)

The ONLY reason why I keep my Cox Digital Cable is because of TCM! If I could get THAT in the basic cable package, I'd DUMP all the rest!

I pay 140 bucks for trier 2 Broadband (20mbps down/6mbps up), Digital Cable and Phone. It's the same phone number I had when I was growing up, so I don't want to give it up. And Cox won't let me get just the channels or features I wan't, it's the bundle or just flat Broadband with NO TV or Phone. It's "The Bundle or Bust". :/

I've got plenty of places where I can get whatever TV show I wanna watch. I think that's why "Almost Human" had Bad Ratings, most of the people who watch it, download the eps cos they don't have a TV service :)

Both DirecTV and Dish Network satellite cost money. The number of channels depends on what type of package you want.

Encore is typically added in free, and my plan gets 32 channels of dvd music. No talking, that part is great. Encore is 'old' movies. One Encore channel for westerns, one Encore channel for adventure, etc. Sundance and Independant Film channel is typically added in as well.

The movie packages can add lots of money to your bill. Typically 30-40 dollars for HBO, or Cinemax, etc.

My boy learns allot from the history channels. I'd rather he watched Pay TV than that YouTube. YouTube turns kids into tubes. Its pathetic and parasitic the crap they allow on it.

Also, the music stations in Australia on PayTv are ok. But not worth the money paid. Still, I'd pay $200 before I had only Commercial TV in Australia to watch. yes ... it is that bad.

This one time at band camp ...

TCM, probably the best reason for me to have cable. I can't complain much. I have 16mbps Internet, Internet phone, and Cable, all for $120.00 through WOW cable.

I have satellite, and get a fair number of channels. I set it so I have a 'profile' so I can just press the channel change button and see the ones I want to.

Do you have to pay for satellite. In Europe satellite TV is free and you have half a dozen satellites with n-teen channels each.

That sucks. Why would anybody have to pay what comes thru the airwaves. I sure like the European satellites better.

Now we even have free TV from towers - similar to cell towers. About 15 channels up to now. That you can watch anywhere - even in the park - with a little stubby antenna integrated into the set or as a seperate hook-on device. Not all rural areas are covered yet but they claim it is 80% coverage.
