Well. There is always a way to get into something new, I guess.
Been around with PC things for this long, I barely give myself time to take a closer look to AMD series. I find myself familiar with Intel series since from an XT, AT, up to the latest series. Deserve to feel guilty ignoring the other side then.
I'll start learning the AMDs. The chipset, processor, and all the features of it. I believe people in this forum are going to be a big help in doing so.

Windows 7
I've started with the Athlon series @ 600 mhz
Then I jumped up to the Athlon XP @ 1.6GHz OC'd to 1.8GHz (it was the max over volt I could do to it...)
Now I have an Athlon II X2 220 @ 2.8 GHz
It just simply amazes me that CPUs are pushing the 4GHz level stock. It's going to be interesting what the manufacturing tech will be in time to come. I would love to see a chip as big as my finger tip that's capable of 8GHz stock.

I remember AMD had issues about cooling that was the main reason I never upgraded my system to AMD. But Intel Core i3 performance was very disappointed whereas Intel Core i5 matches the i7 performance that was a surprise.

I always liked AMD. My 4800+ (2.5GHz Duo) seemed to be as fast as my Intel Q6600 (2.4GHz but quad). But now I am on i7 and i5 (on the laptop) and those worl pretty well.

That was the real issue here back to 10-12 years with additional noisy fan which made AMD sales remarkably low. But I also found AMD was a leading processor chosen by gamers, desktop publishers, and overclockers.

Really??? AMD in Indonesia ... I really need to get out more often.
One thing I would really like to see is how big these giants are, like AMD and Intel.
In the past here, for regular user they only come for Intel, even PC store drove them to buy one. But it was years far behind. Now they mostly see overall spec and the price. Less words on why Intel? Why AMD. But still Intel outstrip AMD's selling. I see Intel are deliberately lowering their price against AMD.

AMD is in my opinion is good but i'm a bit worried about them because i heard they dropped out the cpu market which is why most likely my future build will most likely be intel.
